Former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'Arcy Wretzky came out of relative obscurity this Tuesday, when she was arrested for "failure to control her horses." After years of barely any contact with anyone, the recluse spontaneously phoned in to Chicago's Q101 FM in 2009 to say she had been living on a horse farm in Michigan. TMZ reports Wretzky was ticketed for the offence of "Animals Running at Large" after some of her horses escaped from their enclosure in 2009 and irate neighbours reported the mishap. But not even wild horses could drag Wretzky away from her world of isolation, as she subsequently missed four consecutive court appearances after forgetting to pay the fine. That led to a bench warrant for her arrest. Wretzky is currently in detention and expected to remain behind bars until Valentine's Day, when she may get the sweetest present of all: freedom.
